HIKING TRAILS IN EL MEDANO

If you like hiking in El Médano you will find various trails to discover. The Red Mountain is a 171-meter-high volcano which can be accessed up to its top with hardly any complications. It is located within the Special Natural Reserve of La Montaña Roja and is one of the best known routes, but there are other beautiful paths in El Médano.

The Pelada Mountain is a place surrounded by wild nature that will undoubtedly fascinate you, and which is also within the Red Mountain Natural Reserve. El Bocinero is also a spectacular place with a route for hikers in which, among other things, you will find bunkers from the Second World War.

El Médano is known for being the place where many athletes come to train and enjoy water sports. For this reason it is also the place chosen to hold championships. A great example is the PWA World Windsurfing Championship which occupies the ocean that surrounds El Médano every year.
